Pedestrian Hit, Killed While Crossing Highway

A woman in her 20s was fatally injured when she was struck by a car while crossing Beach Boulevard at Orangewood Avenue, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The woman, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, was hit about 9 p.m. Sunday.
The driver was not held, and the cause of the accident is under investigation, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
