GALAXY TONIGHT at Dallas, 5:30 PDT, Ch. 22 (delayed, 8)

Share

Site -- Pizza Hut Park, Frisco, Texas.

Radio -- 1540, 830.

Records -- Galaxy 11-11-6, FC Dallas 11-9-6.

Record vs. Dallas -- 1-1-0.

Update -- The teams are tied for second place in the Western Conference with 39 points and already are assured of playoff spots, but Dallas has played two fewer games. Should the teams finish in the Nos. 2 and 3 spots, they would face each other in a two-leg first-round playoff series, the lower-seeded team’s playing host to the first leg. Fourth-place Colorado is eight points behind with six games left -- five of which are against expansion teams Real Salt Lake and Chivas USA. Dallas, which will be without injured forwards Carlos Ruiz (hamstring) and Eddie Johnson (foot) tonight, ended a 10-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake on Saturday. The team had last won June 25 at Colorado, 3-1. The Galaxy, coming off a 2-2 tie at Kansas City, will have a full-strength lineup and start goalkeeper Kevin Hartman, who was rested against the Wizards, ending at 93 his streak of consecutive MLS games started. The Galaxy and Dallas will play twice more at the Home Depot Center in the next 10 days -- the U.S. Open Cup final Sept. 28 and another MLS game Oct. 1.
