Coachella update: Two English rock acts have canceled scheduled dates at next weekend’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival because their respective singers have throat problems. The Subways’ 21-year-old singer-guitarist Billy Lunn is suffering from nodules on his vocal chords and has been advised to take six weeks off, the band said in a statement. Meanwhile, Hard-Fi has canceled its April tour dates because Richard Archer is suffering from a throat infection.

Couric fallout: Natalie Morales, who had been a contender to replace Katie Couric as co-host of the “Today” show but lost out to Meredith Vieira, has been named a national correspondent for the NBC morning program.

Poetry prize: Pulitzer Prize-winning poet and translator Richard Wilbur, 75, has been awarded the $100,000 Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize, which honors longtime achievements of American poets.
