Turkey won’t fly
The Aug. 4 editorial “Turkey’s big chance” omitted an important historical fact, namely the Turkish colonization of the Mideast during the Ottoman Empire. I doubt that the Arabs have great affection or trust for Turkey. Unless a country experiences invasion and colonization, it cannot understand and respect the attitudes of nations that have been subjugated. This is the reason why so many people hate the West.
