Update -- The Galaxy extended its unbeaten streak to seven matches Wednesday with a 1-0 victory over the Dynamo at Houston on a goal by recently signed Santino Quaranta. Coach Frank Yallop’s fifth-place team is only four points behind Chivas USA for fourth place in the Western Conference and a playoff spot. “Houston outplayed us in a lot of departments,” Yallop said, “but I guess the one that counts is scoring goals.” The Rapids are coming off consecutive 4-1 losses, the most recent at home to Real Salt Lake on Wednesday. “Some of us got the fire and some of us don’t,” midfielder Kyle Beckerman told the Denver Post. Third-place Colorado plays eight of its last 11 games on the road, meaning that the Galaxy could overtake it too.
