Summit of club chiefs

So club land kingpin Adolfo Suaya had a house party to inaugurate his new crib in the Hollywood Hills. Suaya, who owns the chunks of Hollywood real estate housing some of L.A.’s coolest clubs and eateries, decided to have a summit of sorts. He invited Hollywood heavyweights to dine Tuesday night at his estate, attracting such club owners as Shereen Arazm (Shag), Lonnie Moore and Mike Malin (Dolce Group), JT Torregiani (Bella), Philip Cummins (Sushi Roku, Katana), Richard Heyman (Memphis), James Sinclair (Element) and chef Eric Greenspan, who turned everyone on with his dainty legs of lamb and watermelon and cucumber salad. Greenspan, the former executive chef for Patina, is opening his first spot, the Foundry. Located at the former Cafe Luna on Melrose, the Foundry will offer five different appetizers and entrees every week. Also, look for live jazz performances led by Fishbone’s Christopher Dowd. Sinclair says his Element nightclub is benefiting enormously from the popularity of Les Deux, with which Element shares a parking lot.... Meanwhile, Suaya and Sinclair are teaming up to open La Cantina, a beach-themed joint at Hollywood and Schrader boulevards in a former camera-equipment shop. And here’s where they’re headed: La Cantina is going to be the antithesis of Hollywood scenery. “It’s about flip-flops and shorts,” says Suaya. “No lines, no b.s. Just a cool, casual joint.”

All about promotion

Former Mood doorman Steven Harlow has moved on to promoting full-time. He’s doing Saturday nights at Mood and also bringing in the fun at Tokio on Mondays and Cabana Club on Fridays.... Bunch of happy campers at the Key Club on Saturday night for the Camper Van Beethoven/Cracker double-header. The audience, dominated by fortysomething partyers, was in heaven as singer David Lowery left no hit unsung.... Fab time was had at the Tracy Thielen Happy Hour, held at Mr. T’s Bowl in Highland Park to honor the recently deceased singer. Among the highlights: Kids singing karaoke to Theilen’s music.... Ginger’s in Fullerton is brimming with a hot psychobilly scene. Check out Saturday’s performance by Black Rose Phantoms and others.

Worth a mention

We hear there’s going to be a hot Black Crowes show at the Key Club Morongo on Oct. 8. Folks are already booking rooms for the Cabazon pilgrimage.... Last week we reminded readers to not sleep on Barney’s Beanery, the 86-year-old Santa Monica Boulevard haunt. Well, people in Pasadena now have their own Barney’s Beanery in Old Towne. The new old-style roadhouse, on Colorado Boulevard, is loaded with memorabilia, like the original.... Actor Jon Voight dropped into McCabe’s Guitar Shop on Sunday to cheer on his brother Chip Taylor (songwriter of “Wild Thing” and “Angel of the Morning”).... Punk-rock art show on Saturday at Saffire in Hermosa Beach.... And while we’re in the South Bay, there was a fight at Hennessey’s Tavern in Redondo Beach on Friday as some “Roadhouse”-like antics occurred at a 20-year high-school reunion. Fists flew and folks got tossed out. That’s, like, so junior high.
