Buffalo Club

Every Tuesday night, sommelier Chad Ortis pops opens about half a dozen wines. These are served up from 6:30 to 8:30 in the club’s courtyard, which is transformed into an outdoor lounge, complete with couches and Persian carpets. Those who stick around for dinner at the modern American haunt are offered a 50% discount on any wine on the list that evening.

French 75

Weekdays from 4 to 7 p.m. at the four French 75 locations -- including the newest, in Burbank -- you can enjoy any of the nearly 30 wines offered by the carafe at the glass price. (Translation: Pay for a glass, get a carafe.) Add free, freshly made garlic parmesan chips and tray-passed hors d’oeuvres such as petite croque-monsieurs.

Spazio

Friday evenings from 5:30 to 8 in the summertime, this Mediterranean supper club on the second floor above the Boulevard (that’s Ventura for you non-818’ers) pours half a dozen wines on a theme. Light bites to go along might be mini crab cakes or empanadas. It all happens on the pretty patio.

Enoteca Drago

They’re taking next week off because of Labor Day. But just about every Wednesday night, four wines from a single winery -- usually Italian, but not always -- are showcased in the bar area of this lively spot. The price gets you a 2.5-ounce taste of each wine along with an array of piccoli bocconcini (small bites) such as fried olives and bruschetta.

The CrepeVine

This not quite year-old bistro offers about 80 wines by the glass. Nearly half are French. On Tuesday evenings, diners with a curious palate can partake of a 2-ounce taste of any of them. There is also a menu of affordably priced small bites such as crab-stuffed cherry tomatoes or burrata and pesto crostini.
