FINALLY

On the Web: Mozart enthusiasts, students and scholars can now access the immortal composer’s entire catalog through a free online database with some 24,000 pages. The database -- available at dme.mozarteum.at-- also contains more than 8,000 pages of critical commentary published since 1954, said Ulrich Leisinger, head of research at the International Mozart Foundation, which launched the site this week.

Local artist honored: Edgar Arceneaux, an L.A. native who attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and CalArts in Valencia, has won the 2006 William H. Johnson Prize, a $25,000 award given annually to “encourage early-career African American artists.”

DVD sales: “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” sold 10.5 million copies in its first week on DVD, Buena Vista Worldwide Home Entertainment reported Wednesday, calling it the best first-week showing by any title this year.
