Hundreds arrested in police clash

Police fired tear gas and detained as many as 300 people after protesters attacked them with cobblestones and fireworks during a demonstration against the planned eviction of squatters from a building in downtown Copenhagen.
Authorities gave the squatters the right to use the building in 1982, but sold the property in 2001 to a group that has sought evictions. A court ordered the squatters out in August.
