Workers’ comp plan benefits state

Share

When I read the first sentence of “State pushes to revise workers’ comp process” (Dec. 6), I thought perhaps Gov. Schwarzenegger had finally come to his senses regarding the workers’ compensation crisis in California.

Then as I continued to read I came to the sad realization that this is just another of the governor’s ploys to collect more money for the state and to profit from injured workers even further.

The article doesn’t disclose that the penalties would be paid to the state and not the injured workers, whose permanent disability payments have been cut by over 50%.

When the governor was first elected he promised not to undermine the benefits for injured workers in California, but he has done just that and hit injured workers where it hurts most.
