* Hollywood’s office renaissance continued as music giant EMI Music North America disclosed plans to move some 200 employees into the building at 1800 Highland Ave. CIM Group renovated the building, across from Hollywood & Highland Center. EMI signed a 10-year lease for 50,000 square feet.

* Arent Fox, a Washington-based law firm, said it would acquire the Los Angeles-based intellectual property firm O’Brien Abeles and hire two other attorneys to expand its reach to the West Coast.

* Springfield, Mass.-based Smith & Wesson Holding Corp., the largest U.S. handgun company, agreed to buy Rochester, N.H.-based Thompson/Center Arms Inc. for $102 million to enter the hunting rifle market.
