Mavericks Get Their 10th Win in a Row

Dirk Nowitzki made two free throws with 7.2 seconds left, his only points of the fourth quarter, and the visiting Dallas Mavericks overcame a 10-point deficit Wednesday night to beat the Memphis Grizzlies, 81-80, for their 10th straight victory.

Nowitzki had 18 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Howard led Dallas with 19 points. Pau Gasol led Memphis with 26 points and 10 rebounds.

Cleveland 91, New Jersey 85 -- LeBron James finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and made four free throws in the final 29 seconds at Cleveland to help the Cavaliers win their seventh in a row and end a five-game losing streak against the Nets. Vince Carter had 29 points for New Jersey.

Phoenix 102, Boston 94 -- Shawn Marion scored 21 points to lead seven double-figure scorers, and the Suns overcame Paul Pierce’s 33-point second half to finish 4-2 on their six-game trip.

Pierce finished with 40 points and helped cut a 21-point halftime deficit to 80-78 with 9:06 left before the Suns pulled away for good.

Detroit 90, Minnesota 74 -- Richard Hamilton scored 21 points and Tayshaun Prince had 20 to help the host Pistons rebound from the end of their 11-game winning streak Tuesday at New Jersey.

Houston 86, Milwaukee 84 -- Tracy McGrady scored 22 points, Yao Ming had 21 and the Rockets overcame an early 13-point deficit at Houston. Bobby Simmons had 26 points for the Bucks, playing without Michael Redd (back spasms).

Utah 103, Denver 90 -- Andrei Kirilenko had 21 points, five blocked shots and five assists at Salt Lake City to help the Jazz end a three-game losing streak and extend the Nuggets’ skid to four games.

Atlanta 102, Charlotte 92 -- The Bobcats extended their franchise-record losing streak to 13 games with a setback at Charlotte, N.C., in a game between the teams with the league’s worst records.

New Orleans 100, Chicago 95 -- Chris Paul scored 11 of his 25 points in the final five minutes and finished with 13 assists, rescuing the Hornets after they had blown a 17-point third-quarter lead at Oklahoma City.

San Antonio 86, Portland 82 -- Manu Ginobili finished with 22 points, Tony Parker had 20, and Tim Duncan had 14 points and 17 rebounds to help the visiting Spurs beat the Trail Blazers for the 10th time in their last 11 meetings.

Seattle 111, Golden State 107 -- Ray Allen scored 32 points and Rashard Lewis had 26 as the Warriors made only two of 21 shots in the third quarter to blow a 12-point lead in a loss at Seattle.

Baron Davis led the Warriors with 35 points.

Toronto 117, Washington 112 -- Chris Bosh had 33 points and 13 rebounds, and Mike James had 29 points and made two three-pointers in the final minute to help the host Raptors prevail despite at one point losing all but two points of an 18-point lead. Gilbert Arenas scored 35 for the Wizards.

Seattle owner Howard Schultz said he would look at all options -- including moving or selling the team -- if the Washington Legislature fails by March 9 to earmark $200 million for the team to refurbish KeyArena or build a new home....
