Sean Mallon’s free throw with less than a second to play lifted No. 5 Gonzaga to a 62-61 victory over St. Mary’s on Monday night at Spokane, Wash., and extended the nation’s longest home winning streak to 35 games.

The Bulldogs, 19-3 overall and 9-0 in the West Coast Conference, won their 10th consecutive game, tying Memphis and George Washington for the longest current streak.

Adam Morrison, the nation’s leading scorer, struggled throughout the game with his shooting, but he tied the score at 61 by making two free throws with 52 seconds left.

Todd Golden missed a long three-pointer for the Gaels, and the Zags got the rebound with 28 seconds left.

Morrison dribbled the clock down to a few seconds and then grazed the front of the rim on a midrange jumper. Gonzaga got the rebound and, with 0.5 seconds left, Derek Raivio inbounded the ball to Mallon under the basket and he was fouled by Daniel Kickert as the buzzer sounded.

The officials checked the replay and put 0.3 seconds back on the clock.

Mallon, an 80% free-throw shooter, missed the first. He made the second, and Gonzaga stole the inbounds pass to end the game.

St. Mary’s (10-11, 3-6) has lost 21 of the last 22 games against Gonzaga.

No. 6 Texas 65, Texas Tech 44 -- P.J. Tucker scored 18 points and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds at Lubbock, Texas, as the Longhorns set a school record with seven straight 20-win seasons.

It was Tucker’s ninth double-double, and his rebound total was only five shy of what the Red Raiders got as a team.

LaMarcus Aldridge, who struggled the last two games with foul trouble, had 17 points and 11 rebounds -- his 11th double-double of the season -- while Kenton Paulino added 10 points for the Longhorns (20-3, 8-1 Big 12). This was only the second home loss for Texas Tech (12-11, 4-5) this season.
