Avalanches Kill 7 Czech Tourists
From Times Wire Reports
Avalanches killed seven Czech tourists in Slovakia’s High Tatra range, a rescue worker said.
The mountaineers were hit by the avalanche while asleep in the western part of the mountain range, Slovak rescue worker Rudolf Zupa said.
One man escaped, Zupa said.
Heavy snowfall has recently produced conditions ripe for avalanches.
