Microsoft Releases Patch to Combat New Worm

Microsoft Corp. released on its website software to protect Windows operating system users from an e-mail “worm” attack expected to begin Friday.

All versions of Windows going to back to Windows 98 may be vulnerable to the latest variation of the so-called Sober worm, a Microsoft spokesman said.
