Cocktail hour

with a twist

Culver City is getting ready to rock with the debut of Saints & Sinners, which opens Jan. 16. Saints & Sinners is the latest mindblower by artsy barkeep Bobby Green (Bigfoot Lodge, Lucky Tiki, Little Cave). Expect such signature cocktails as Holy Water, which gets you blessed and sauced simultaneously.... Hollywood heavyweights Steven Harlow, Suk Sung and Mason are raising a ruckus at Guy’s on Beverly, where they are hosting a new weekly Monday night affair starting Jan. 16.... Promoter Dayle Gloria is going unplugged at On the Rox, where she’ll be doing a monthly showcase of rockers, sans amps. Look for Billy Morrison (the Cult, Camp Freddy) on Jan. 27.... Little Pedro’s downtown is changing ownership and the old guard is going out with a bang on Saturday with performances by Chow Nasty, DJs Peanut Butter Wolf, Jeremy Sole and Filip from IMA Robot. We hear new owners/investors include Dana Hollister, who owns the fabulous Paramour Estate in Silver Lake.

A waterlogged New Year’s Eve

Rainy nights and New Year’s always get folks down and that’s just what happened on Saturday night, when Giant Village called its party off. Many would-be Giant revelers turned out at the Cirk-O-Six burlesque event at downtown’s Los Angeles Theatre, while others hot-footed it to the Traffic Events/Spundae party at Circus in WeHo.... And we hear folks who hit the Little Radio warehouse party downtown got an earful of DJs Z-Trip and Steve Aoki, who spun at the sold-out affair.... Among those who decided to splurge for a table at tony Hollywood nightclub Mood’s New Year’s Eve bash were Hulk Hogan, Anna Nicole Smith, crooner Nick Carter and the rock band Audioslave.... The rain didn’t stop NYE guests at the Temple Bar in Santa Monica from getting their funk on with the Breakestra, which pulled a James Brown by jamming for a couple of hours straight.

Long time

no see

For the first time in eight years, crooner James Intveld was joined by guitarist Eddie Perez on Friday at the Knitting Factory. Perez has been busy getting his kicks as Dwight Yoakam’s lead guitarist.... Volkswagen plotted to ring in 2006 with some Fahrvergnugen at its annual Hollywood party, which was scheduled for Wednesday night at the Getty Center. Among those who RSVP’d were newly engaged Tori Spelling and her fiance, actor Dean McDermott.
