From Times Staff and Wires Reports

AMC Entertainment Inc. will pay $300,000 to settle a Justice Department lawsuit claiming that the company’s stadium-style movie theaters didn’t provide proper access to customers in wheelchairs.

In 2003, AMC and the department settled on a consent decree that has now been approved by a judge. AMC also promised to improve wheelchair access at 1,200 theaters with stadium seating.
