Mr. Right?

FOR the first time in years, I’m eagerly awaiting the Oscars [“Oscar’s Choice,” by Rachel Abramowitz, Jan. 6]. I can stand the parade of females uncomfortable in their formal attire, and laundry list acceptance speeches, so long as I can look forward to the delicious wit of Jon Stewart. A stroke of genius! Besides, he’s good to look at.

THE academy should have chosen an appropriate host for this year’s Oscar telecast. Someone who has a film career, is classy, talented, on the edge and beautiful. In today’s world that can only mean the Divine Miss M -- Bette Midler!
