Activists Who Seized Offices Are Detained
From Times Wire Reports
Thai police detained about 50 protesters outside Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s office after activists stormed and briefly held the government compound overnight, demanding he step down.
About 100 police from a much larger contingent of officers charged into the crowd to grab the protesters -- the only ones left from a group of several thousand the night before, witnesses said.
It was not immediately clear whether the protesters had been officially arrested.
