Governor Declares Disaster Over Drought

Gov. Rick Perry issued a disaster declaration for the state because of severe drought conditions and asked the federal government to provide emergency aid.
If his request is approved, qualified farms and ranches would be eligible for low-interest emergency loans as well as other assistance, Perry’s office said in Austin.
