Gunfire From Another Vehicle Kills Motorist
From Times Staff Reports
A 21-year-old college football player died early Saturday after being shot on Long Beach Boulevard, near the 710 Freeway.
Police said Shana Leaupepe of Gardena was driving with his girlfriend shortly after 1 a.m. when someone in another vehicle shot him.
Leaupepe, who police say was expected to play for New Mexico State next season, died at a hospital.
