Chivas USA Is Ousted From U.S. Open Cup

Chivas USA was eliminated from the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday night at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, losing to Roma FC on penalty kicks after playing to a scoreless draw for 120 minutes.

Chivas missed two of its first three penalty kicks and lost, 4-2, in the shootout.

Chivas played a man down for most of the second half after forward Ante Razov received a red card for a serious foul in the 57th minute.

Roma FC, an amateur team based in Dallas, was coming off an upset of Miami FC in the second round of the tournament and becomes only the second club team since 1995 to advance to the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup.
