The Defense Department last week identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq or who died at a U.S. hospital of their injuries:

Duane J. Dreasky, 31, of Novi, Mich.; sergeant, Army National Guard. Dreasky died July 7 at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, where he was being treated for severe burns suffered Nov. 21 when a roadside bomb exploded near his Humvee in Habbaniya, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 119th Field Artillery, Army National Guard in Lansing, Mich.

Omar D. Flores, 27, of Mission, Texas; staff sergeant, Army. Flores was among three soldiers killed July 8 when a roadside bomb exploded near their mine-protected vehicle in Ramadi, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 54th Engineer Battalion, 130th Engineer Brigade at Warner Barracks in Bamberg, Germany.

Irving Hernandez Jr., 28, of New York; sergeant, Army. Hernandez was killed by a sniper Wednesday in Mosul, northwest of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Ft. Wainwright, Alaska.

Troy C. Linden, 22, of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; specialist, Army. Linden was among three soldiers killed July 8 when a roadside bomb exploded near their mine-protected vehicle in Ramadi, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 54th Engineer Battalion, 130th Engineer Brigade at Warner Barracks in Bamberg, Germany.

Joseph P. Micks, 22, of Rapid River, Mich.; specialist, Army. Micks was among three soldiers killed July 8 when a roadside bomb exploded near their mine-protected vehicle in Ramadi, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 54th Engineer Battalion, 130th Engineer Brigade at Warner Barracks in Bamberg, Germany.

Damien M. Montoya, 21, of Holbrook, Ariz.; specialist, Army. Montoya died from a noncombat-related cause July 9 in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Justin L. Noyes, 23, of Vinita, Okla.; sergeant, Marine Corps. Noyes was killed July 2 while trying to disarm a bomb in Fallouja, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa, Japan.

Jerry A. Tharp, 44, of Aledo, Ill.; petty officer first class, Navy Reserve. Tharp was killed Wednesday when a roadside bomb exploded while he was on foot patrol in Al Anbar province, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 25, Navy Reserve in Rock Island, Ill.
