From Times Wire Reports

Fire gutted the Kirkland home of a National Guard soldier serving in Iraq, and authorities feared the four bodies found inside included those of his wife and children.

Sgt. Leonid Milkin, 29, was on his way to Washington state after being told of the fire in the suburban home east of Seattle. He will probably be put on emergency leave, a Guard spokesman said.

The victims’ identities were not released Tuesday.

The fire’s cause remained undetermined. Nothing immediately indicated foul play, police said.

Milkin had been in Iraq since September with the 341st Military Intelligence Battalion.
