Lincoln Place Residents Given 3 Months to Move

The firm that owns an apartment complex at the center of a years-long development controversy announced Thursday that it will delay additional evictions until the end of August.
AIMCO, which plans to tear down the Lincoln Place Apartments to build condominiums, said it will give the remaining tenants, all of whom are elderly or disabled, three more months to consider enhanced relocation packages.
This week, the tenants lost a last-ditch effort to keep their homes when the city attorney’s office advised the Los Angeles City Council that a proposal that would allow residents to stay probably couldn’t withstand a court challenge.
