Koller Scores Twice for Czech Republic

Jan Koller scored two goals and the host Czech Republic defeated Trinidad and Tobago, 3-0, Saturday at Prague in a game between teams headed for the World Cup.

Koller, who scored both goals in the first half, is the Czech Republic’s all-time leading scorer with 42 goals. He returned from a knee injury in a friendly against Costa Rica on Tuesday.

At Elche, host Spain extended its unbeaten streak to 21 games with a 2-0 victory over Egypt in which Raul ended a seven-month goal drought.

Spain improved to 13-0-8 under Luis Aragones, who took over the team after the 2004 European Championship.

Peter Crouch had a hat trick and Michael Owen scored his first goal in 2006 to lead host England over Jamaica, 6-0, at Manchester.

It was Crouch’s first hat trick for England.

At Zurich, Alexander Frei and Marco Streller each scored two goals to lead Switzerland over visiting China, 4-1.

Portugal easily handled Luxembourg, 3-0, at Metz, France, behind two goals from Simao Sabrosa and one from Luis Figo.

At Wolfsburg, Germany, Euzebiusz Smolarek scored in the second half to lift Poland over Croatia, 1-0.
