From Times Wire Reports

A small plane crashed into an unoccupied home in a residential neighborhood south of Reno-Tahoe International Airport, killing both people aboard and sending 30-foot flames and heavy smoke into the air.

The single-engine, four-seat plane crashed about 3 p.m., Reno Fire Department spokesman Steve Frady said. The pilot and passenger have not been identified, he said.

Police closed off several blocks around the home about two miles south of the airport just west of U.S. Highway 395.
