A booming economy? Where?

REGARDING the May 21 Letters, G.W. Carlyle seemed to think the American economy is booming. According to the foreign exchange rates on the preceding page, 28 of 45 countries listed have lower rates for the American dollar than a year ago.
A booming American economy? I think not.
