Hire cost-cutting czar

Re “No Funds to Print Disaster Pamphlet,” June 8

Los Angeles County supervisors should appoint a cost-cutting czar. This person could produce an annual report prioritizing all county expenditures. Then, when needs arise such as the unfunded disaster pamphlet, the supervisors could eliminate a program from the bottom of the list.

As an example, there are several newsletters that the county distributes to its employees that are not as important as providing information about emergency preparedness to constituents with special needs.
