A trapper captured a 5 1/2-foot alligator thought to be responsible for biting a snorkeler in the head last week at a park north of Orlando, officials said.
The gator was caught at Kelly Park near Apopka, about 50 yards from where Michael A. Diaz Jr. had been bitten from behind. His wound required 33 stitches.
The park has been closed to swimming since the attack.
