Court Will Investigate Alleged CIA Flights
Spain’s National Court will investigate allegations that the CIA used an airport on the Mediterranean island of Majorca for its program of covert transfers of suspected terrorists, court officials said.
A report issued last week by a Swiss lawmaker investigating on behalf of the Council of Europe named Spain as one of 14 European countries that allegedly colluded with the U.S. intelligence agency to transport terrorism suspects on secret flights.
Some of the detainees were allegedly held in secret prisons in Europe, says the report, which offers no evidence to support the claims.
