From Times wire reports

Asian Americans have seen the fastest growth in homeownership since 2000 of any U.S. population group and that trend is expected to continue, according to a report released by the UCLA Asian American Studies Center and the Asian Real Estate Assn. of America.

Homeownership among Asian Americans increased from 52% in 2000 to 60% in 2004.

And although it reached a new high in 2004, it still lagged behind the national rate of 69% and the non-Latino white population, which was 76%.

Researchers analyzed trends among Asian Americans in 25 metropolitan areas.
