There’s More Than One West

Rick Wartzman’s column about rodeos brought to mind my husband’s family, which is studded with cowboys who ranched in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming (“Rodeo in California Isn’t Just for Shopping,” From First and Spring, June 4).

They find Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive and tales of shopping and excess spending peculiar, and they still pronounce it “Roh-dee-oh Drive.”

Remember the line “East is East and West is West”? Wartzman made the point: There’s more than one West.
