Police said they had found bags containing millions of dollars from Britain’s biggest bank robbery in a London warehouse Friday, arrested a 43-year-old man there and charged a fifth person in the case.

The warehouse in a working-class neighborhood of southeast London contained a car business, police said. No precise amount of money was given.

Police said they were questioning the man arrested at the warehouse about the robbery of the Securitas Cash Management Ltd. warehouse in Tonbridge, 30 miles southeast of London. Thieves took $93 million during the night of Feb. 21-22.

The three other people charged in the case made their first court appearance Thursday and were ordered held until March 13.

Car salesman John Fowler, 57, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery; with kidnapping cash warehouse manager Colin Dixon, his wife, Lynn, and their 9-year-old son, Craig; and with handling stolen goods.

Car salesman Stuart Royle, 47, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, and Kim Shackleton, 39, was charged with handling stolen goods.

Police continued questioning a 33-year-old man arrested Monday, after obtaining court permission to extend his detention for 24 hours.
