From Times Wire Reports

One of Britain’s top secondary schools wants to give a scholarship to a girl or boy aged 13 to 18. But there’s a catch: The last name has to be Peyton.

The preparatory school, Brighton College, has hundreds of thousands of dollars in an endowment that stipulates the scholarship go to a namesake of the donor, Derek Wakehurst Peyton, who died in 2002.

The school in East Sussex contacted 600 Peytons in Britain but got no takers, so it is looking abroad. Applicants must provide birth certificates and spell their name the same way. Hyphenated names are disqualified.
