Drug Lords Invited to Invest at Home

Powerful drug lords are being encouraged to invest their illegally earned profits in the war-shattered country, said the governor of Helmand, the nation’s top opium growing province.
The offer, which had no takers, came amid warnings of another bumper poppy crop that will fuel a booming narcotics trade that accounts for 35% of the nation’s income.
