IN his March 18 letter to the editor, Bruce Goodman derides last year’s political films because they were “basically ignored by filmgoers.” I certainly didn’t ignore “Syriana,” “Munich” or “Good Night, and Good Luck.” Would it matter if “Dr. Strangelove,” “Citizen Kane,” “Reds” or “All the President’s Men” were big box office? I’m just thankful they were made.

And his description of the creators of last year’s political films as being “surrounded by sycophants” and having “absolutely no experience in government, economics, history or international relations” seems to fit George W. Bush more aptly than George Clooney.
