2 Miners Trapped Nearly a Week Are Still Alive
From Times Wire Reports
The tiny Australian gold mining community of Beaconsfield erupted in joy after learning that two miners trapped nearly 3,000 feet underground for almost a week were still alive.
The men were trapped Tuesday when a small earthquake triggered a rock collapse. One co-worker was killed. After a tunnel was blasted, microphones picked up the voices of Todd Russell and Brant Webb.
More digging was required to reach them.
