Huntington’s echoes of history

Share

I enjoyed your story on the Huntington mansion [“A Remodel for the Ages,” April 20]. I thought of it often when I watched a video of the 1985 version of “Bleak House” on PBS. The grand fireplaces and high-ceilinged rooms of the English country houses depicted in the program were evidently Huntington’s inspiration, and although I appreciate the house and the grounds, I think they are especially ostentatious!
