General Motors Corp., under federal scrutiny for its accounting practices, said two top financial officers would leave the world’s biggest automaker.

Chief Accounting Officer Peter Bible, 48, will resign June 1 after almost 10 years on the job. Controller Paul W. Schmidt, 61, will retire this year after a successor is found.

A spokeswoman said that Bible was leaving for personal reasons and that Schmidt’s retirement was planned “for some time.”
