Beleaguered Premier Begins Return to Work

Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra will resume some duties, a spokesman said, weeks after the leader took a leave of absence following massive protests demanding his ouster.
New elections have not been scheduled. Thaksin earlier conducted a meeting on a government anti-drug drive, the second official matter he has handled this week.
Some of his opponents were angered by his return to work.
