A man who allegedly stabbed another man with a 6-inch blade attached to the glove of his Freddy Krueger costume remained in jail Monday, but he will not face felony charges, officials said.
Prosecutors said Monday that they would not file state charges against Joseph Zacher, 37, who was dressed as the “Nightmare on Elm Street” film character when he wounded a 25-year-old man during a scuffle Saturday on Hollywood Boulevard near La Brea Avenue. But police said Zacher may face misdemeanor charges for carrying an illegal knife.
They said Zacher was confronted by the victim and stabbed him during a pushing match. The victim was treated at a hospital and released.
