Woman dies in leap from courthouse

A woman described as severely mentally ill and with a history of suicide attempts jumped to her death Thursday from the 19th floor of the main criminal courthouse downtown, authorities said.
The death, at the corner where three courthouses and City Hall meet, caused a two-hour closure of Spring and Temple streets in the early afternoon as police investigated.
