Looking for a little TLC

THERE was some serious “hug it out” going on Oct. 28 at the 17th annual juvenile diabetes fundraiser at the Beverly Hilton, the Carousel of Hope gala. Everyone was showing the love. 1. Host Jay Leno was joined onstage by Brooke Shields to get bidding started on the live auction. But few at the fundraiser appreciated Leno’s opening monologue of fat jokes. Ouch. Jay, can you spell “inappropriate”? 2. Teri Hatcher couldn’t hike up her Gianfranco Ferre leopard-print gown to sit in the mini Mercedes Benz she’d designed to be auctioned. But after posing next to her kiddie car, she raced to the silent-auction room, explaining, “This is the only time I get to shop!” 3. Usher performed with flair. Barry Manilow sang songs that made the whole room sing. Katherine McPhee sang one of Whitney Houston’s songs to her -- rumor was that Whitney might warble, but she’s saving her voice for the Grammys. 4. Founder Barbara Davis embraced Whitney Houston; Sharon Stone held on to Quincy Jones for dear life; Kristen Davis snuggled with Serena Williams.

Viktor and Rolf and H&M; tie the knot; the stars hold their pieces

If this doesn’t take the cake....

5. Viktor Horsting, below left, and Rolf Snoeren (with Raquel Zimmerman) got hitched Oct. 27 to retailer H&M; with a wedding-themed bash at a mammoth Bel Air estate. Chloe Sevigny, Mia Maestro, Lara Flynn Boyle, Kanye West, Christina Milian and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen helped out with the cake. OK, only some of them ate it.

Down a few drinks, watch planets spin

6. At the gala Oct. 29 reopening of the Griffith Park Observatory, guests sipped Martian Mojitos, Galactic Gimlets and Big Dippers. 7. As Susan Bay Nimoy was finding her seat at the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon theater, she joked, “A martini and heels are always challenging.” When the couple were introduced to the 200-some audience, Susan blurted, “I’ve got the energy, but he’s got the bucks!” and made her shy husband, who was a major contributor, stand up and take a bow.

No party is complete without ...

... Naked airbrushed ladies! 8-11. At MAC cosmetics’ ultra-hip Chinese Dress art party Oct. 27 in WeHo, a dozen models were airbrushed to look as if they were wearing qipao, as interpreted by Juicy Couture, Sue Wong and Vivienne Tam. A throng of local MAC devotees -- including Ione Skye, Jody Watley and celebrity stylist Jessica Paster -- checked it out. David Hasselhoff was among those scrutinizing the shivering models to see if they were wearing thongs and pasties. (They were.)
