In terms of quality horse racing, there is nothing particularly interesting about today’s card at Hollywood Park.

Four of the eight races are for maidens and another is an $8,000 claimer for older sprinters.

No matter. With a hefty two-day pick six carry-over, it figures to be an exciting day in Inglewood.

Thanks to a parade of longshots winning Saturday and Sunday in the final six races, there is a carry-over of $541,201 awaiting bettors.

The pick six begins in the third race. By the time betting is closed, there is almost certain to be more than $2 million in the total pick six pool, if history is any indication.

In June, Hollywood Park had a two-day carry-over of $526,158. The total pick six pool that day exceeded $2.3 million.

The $8,000 claimer is arguably the most wide open of the pick six races. After three were scratched Tuesday morning, 10 are scheduled to run seven furlongs.

Only five horses are set to run in the day’s richest race, a $53,000 allowance at seven furlongs.

The seventh on the program, it will feature the return of Truly A Judge, a 12-time winner who won his only previous start at seven furlongs. Trained by David Bernstein, Truly A Judge, making his Cushion Track debut, will be ridden by Martin Pedroza. Truly A Judge’s opponents are Romeo Plus, Buckland Manor, Harvard Avenue, who was third in an optional claimer two weeks ago in his first start in about 14 1/2 months, and Gotaghostofachance, who has been away since winning the Sport Page Handicap on Breeders’ Cup Day, 2005, at Belmont Park.

The other pick six races are a $32,000 maiden claimer for 2-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles, a $50,000 claimer for 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles on turf, a $62,500 maiden claimer for 2-year-old fillies at 6 1/2 furlongs, and a maiden event for older California-bred fillies and mares at one mile on grass.
