Using a new database, Los Angeles police have found and removed 34 sex offender parolees who were living in residential hotels located too close to a newly opened elementary school, the Los Angeles city attorney’s office announced Tuesday.

The sex offenders were removed from the Bonnie Lee Hotel, the Monterey Inn and the Ambassador Hotel. The new tool allowed police to pinpoint the locations of all the sex offenders, then remove the ones who were too close to the school. All had been removed by late August.
