4th lawyer dies in prison standoff

A public defender died of his injuries after being shot by inmates who took a group of lawyers hostage Saturday near the central Mexican city of Morelia, bringing the death toll in the incident to five, authorities said.
Three other lawyers and an inmate also died in the hostage-taking and subsequent police raid. Officials were investigating how the inmates obtained handguns at the prison, which holds 2,000 inmates.
