Ex-mayor gambles his way to jail

A former mayor has been sentenced to 20 years after gambling away more than $11.5 million of public money, the official New China News Agency said.
Li Weimin, 43, former head of wealthy Tangxia township, lost the money during 257 gambling trips to nearby Macao and Hong Kong between 2000 and 2004, the news agency said.
