From Times Staff and Wire Reports

At Pacific High School, officials said a group of more than 60 Latino students charged a group of 20 to 25 black students on the school’s handball courts after refusing to return to class after lunch. The groups did not fight -- school police intervened -- but 60 students were suspended, and one was hurt when police used pepper spray. That student, who was treated at a hospital, was one of five cited for disturbing the peace.
