Washington’s Stanback Looks to Be Out for Season

From the Associated Press

Isaiah Stanback’s career at Washington appears to be over. The senior quarterback will have surgery today on his injured right foot and is expected to sit out the rest of the season, Coach Tyrone Willingham announced on his radio show Monday. Stanback was originally diagnosed with a sprained right foot, but additional tests revealed an injury to a joint in the top of his foot.

Linebacker Rufus Alexander, Oklahoma’s leading tackler, was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace and interfering with official process after a confrontation Sunday with police in Norman, Okla. Alexander said he was trying to stop a fight. Coach Bob Stoops said any disciplinary action would be internal.
